Taking advantage of the convenient location, we aim to increase awareness in the Kanto area
Q. Please tell us how you came to open Saitama Fujimino Center.
Mitsugi: Fujimino City, Saitama, is an area located in the center of Saitama Prefecture's main cities, with Saitama City to the east, Kawagoe City to the north, and Tokorozawa City to the south. With this new store, we will have eight equipment center in the Kanto area, and this will be the third center in Saitama Prefecture, following the Saitama "Saitama Higashimatsuyama Center" and "Saitama Hasuda Center". "Saitama Fujimino Center" was opened with the aim of easing customer concentration at the two centers and increasing awareness in the region.
Q. Please introduce yourself and your work at the center.
From the left, Shogo Arima, Jurai Mitsugi, and Suzuka Hizume
Mitsugi: I work as acting center manager. I used to work at Saitama Hasuda Center in Saitama Prefecture, but I was transferred when Saitama Fujimino Center opened. In the past, I also worked as a Self-Defense Force member and a courier.
My job here is to manage equipment center, coordinate the work schedules of our members, and manage the quality of the equipment. I make various arrangements to ensure that our members have a comfortable working environment and that operations at equipment center run smoothly.
Arima: I joined the company in July 2023, and am the newest employee at Saitama Fujimino Center. I previously worked as a plumbing contractor, but I was attracted to ASNOVA because of the large number of holidays per year and the low amount of overtime, so I changed jobs.
I am mainly in charge of dealing with customers who come to borrow or return equipment, and managing the equipment. Specifically, I check the equipment returned by customers, and check that there are no defects and that the number is correct by comparing it with the receipt. I also try to provide friendly customer service so that customers can come and go in a good mood.
Hizume: I joined the company in August 2022. Previously, I handled books and did clerical work at the library. In my previous job, we had a shift system, so I often had to work on weekends, but at ASNOVA, I can often take holidays on weekends, which is very helpful.
My job involves receiving customers who come to Equipment Center, entering order slips, checking inventory, etc. It is no exaggeration to say that the way we respond to phone calls and visitors determines the image of the center, so I try to respond politely, sincerely, and in a friendly manner.
Community-based center management with teamwork at its core
Q. Please tell us what your impressions of each other are and what you can rely on among your fellow members.
Mitsugi: I've known both Arima and Hizume for a long time, so we've been able to work together at Saitama Fujimino Center. They're both friendly and easy to talk to, so it's fun to work with them.
I also feel that the three of us have similar ways of working. Sometimes we work seriously and concentrate, but sometimes we chat casually during breaks and have fun. I think we have the same sense of balance.
Arima: I feel that the two of them are very friendly. I've only recently joined the company, so when there's something I don't understand about my work, I always rely on them, and they're a great source of encouragement.
Hizume: I'm the only woman at Saitama Fujimino Center, so I can see that Miyoshi-san and Arima-san are very considerate of me. Even when they're chatting, they always try to keep me company so that I don't feel left out.
Actually, all three of us live close to each other, so we sometimes see each other at the local supermarket. That's when we get to talking again, so we never run out of things to talk about. Even through those casual conversations, we can understand each other's personalities and it helps us to deepen our teamwork.
Q. What kind of center would you like Saitama Fujimino Center to be?
Miyoshi: I hope that our center will become one that customers will want to use again. Of course, scaffolding rental is a transaction between "companies," but I would like to value communication between "people" and become a friendly, informal presence.
Arima: It would be nice if we could reduce the burden on Saitama Higashimatsuyama Center and Saitama Hasuda Center. Saitama Hasuda Center has a large number of users but the site area is a bit small. scaffolding The work space for loading the trucks is small and care must be taken to turn the trucks around. On the other hand, Saitama Higashimatsuyama Center has about twice the area of Saitama Fujimino Center, but the slope is steeper, so care must be taken when storing equipment and stopping to unload and load.
Saitama Fujimino Center has relatively flat ground and there is enough space for trucks to turn around, so we hope that customers will be able to use the center without any stress.
Q.Please tell us about your future goals.
Mitsugi: I want to keep the number of occupational accidents at zero. Working at equipment center requires a lot of physical strength, so it is possible that you may hurt your back trying to lift something heavy, or drop something on your foot due to carelessness and injure yourself. In order to prevent such occupational accidents, I would like to make sure that I stretch and warm up properly before starting the inspection.
Arima: I want to keep zero complaints. With our equipment rental service, we sometimes have trouble with not having enough equipment, or we hear complaints that the person who handled the equipment had a bad attitude. To prevent this from happening, I want to cross-check the management of the equipment, greet customers with a smile so that they can rent it comfortably, and strive for accuracy and sincerity.
Hizume: I want to maintain an open relationship so that the three of us can come together and solve any problems that may arise in the future. I want us to work together to operate Saitama Fujimino Center, trying to treat other people's problems as our own, sharing even the smallest information.
Mitsugi: I want to work hard to create an open working environment while aiming for zero workplace accidents and zero complaints. I also hope that Saitama Fujimino Center can be of service to our customers as a base where they can rent "anytime, nearby, and with peace of mind."
